Are candle warmers healthier than burning a candle?
Usually, but the warmer is not what makes the difference — the wax is. A warmer melts wax with gentle heat instead of combustion, so there is no flame, no soot, and no black smoke trail on your wall or ceiling. What still matters is what is in the wax. A paraffin candle full of heavy synthetic oils releases those compounds whether you burn it or warm it. Are candle warmers toxic? Do they release toxins?
The warmer itself releases nothing — it is just a heat source. Anything released comes from the wax and fragrance oil. Warming a clean coconut wax candle releases fragrance and very little else. Warming a paraffin candle scented with cheap synthetic oil still puts those compounds into your room. The honest answer is that "is a warmer toxic" is the wrong question; "what is in the wax" is the right one.
How long can you leave a candle warmer on?
Follow your warmer manufacturer's instructions, and never leave one running unattended or overnight. Practically, a few hours is plenty — the melt pool reaches full fragrance throw well before that, and running it longer mostly just consumes wax. Turn it off when you leave the room.
Candle warmer or burning — which is better?
Burning gives you flame and the softest light. A warmer gives you no soot, no flame risk, and slower wax consumption. Many of our customers do both: burn in the evening, warm during the day. Neither is a compromise if the wax is clean.

Are your candles soy or beeswax?
Neither. We use only non-toxic coconut wax. It burns cleaner and longer than most soy or beeswax candles, and it does not need the heavy oils used to hold other waxes together — so no parabens or sulfates. How long does an 8 oz candle burn?
80 hours average burn, guaranteed. That is substantially longer than most 8 oz soy candles, because coconut wax burns at a lower temperature. Shop all coconut wax candles.
How do I get the best scent from my candle?
Light it for at least 60 minutes the first time. The fragrance comes from the melt pool of oil that forms across the top, and that first hour sets the candle's scent memory. Short first burns tunnel the wax and cost you both fragrance and hours. Full burn guide.
How long do the scents last in the room?
Our fragrances are built to be present without overpowering. We deliberately do not over-scent — heavily scented candles saturate a room in minutes and then fatigue your nose so you stop smelling them entirely. Ours are meant to still be pleasant in hour three.
Why don't your candles leave black marks?
Because of the wick and the burn temperature. We use 100% braided cotton wicks anchored to the bottom of the glass, which throws a clean flame and stops the wick drowning in wax build-up. No lead, no metal cores, no soot trails.
Are your diffusers non-toxic?

What is the difference between a diffusing oil and a candle?
A diffusing oil scents a room with no heat and no flame at all — it works in a reed diffuser, an ultrasonic diffuser or a car diffuser, and it keeps scenting for weeks rather than hours. A candle adds light and a warm melt pool. Both use the same fragrance oils here, so the scent is identical; only the delivery changes. See the diffusing oils and diffusers.
