Color

A hand-thrown 14 oz ceramic vessel, roughly 5 inches across and 3 inches tall, in seven glaze colors. No candle, no wax — just the pottery, made in Arizona and meant for the kitchen table.

This is the same vessel we pour candles into. If you want it with a candle in it, choose either the Harmonie scents or the Sedona Sky scents.

Seven glaze colors

Bright Red, Dark Red, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Yellow, White and Green. Each is glazed by hand, so the color pools and breaks differently on every piece. Two vessels in the same glaze will be recognizably related and visibly not identical.

What you can do with it

Fourteen fluid ounces is a useful size: soup, oatmeal, ice cream, salsa, a side salad, olives. The clay holds temperature well, so hot food stays warm and cold food stays cold longer than it would in glass. Beyond the table, people use them as soap dishes, catch-alls for keys and rings, and planters for small succulents.

Care

Food-safe, dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe. No special handling needed. As with any hand-made ceramic, avoid dropping it on tile.

Made by hand, so not uniform

Every vessel is thrown and glazed individually in Arizona. Dimensions are close approximations rather than specifications, and grain, color and glaze effects differ from one batch to the next. If you need a set of six that match exactly, hand-made pottery is the wrong choice — that variation is what you are buying.

Questions

Does this come with a candle?

No. This listing is the empty vessel. For a candle in the same pottery, see the Harmonie or Sedona Sky vessels.

How big is it, exactly?

About 5 inches across and 3 inches tall, holding roughly 14 fluid ounces. Because each one is thrown by hand, treat those as approximations.

Can I put it in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes, both. It is also food-safe.

Can I have a candle poured into one later?

Yes. Write to us and we will send a prepaid return box; the filled vessel comes back in about two weeks. Choose any scent from the Harmonie or Sedona Sky collections.

How is this different from the Blue Series bowls?

Different clay, different shape, different sizes. The Blue Series bowls are dragonfruit clay with a blue glaze in 4, 6 and 8 oz. These are 14 oz vessels in seven glazes.

Who makes them?

An artisan partner of ours in Arizona, working by hand on a potter's wheel.

  • ceramic vessel (14 oz)
